Why does Macintosh SUCK? Where do I start? 1. Price. Go ahead, research. Apple is way overpriced. You end up getting far less for your money. No low end Mac's for the budget shopper. Pity. Why would anybody pay for an operating system when you can use Linux for free? 2. Not tech savvy.
64. Most programs that have a Mac version, it is incredibly crippled or behind in features. Picasa doesn’t have Geotagging, Mozy is missing most options, Chrome is unstable, etc… 65. Poor supply of good free apps, and Mac apps are always more expensive.
Why isn't Mac good for gaming? Let’s walk down memory lane. Did you know that Mac was actually known to have some awesome games in it? Yes, it’s true. During the 80’s that was exactly what the scenario was for Mac. Between the Mac and the PC, the latter was known to be more functional than a gaming machine.
I wrote this to post as a response to someone else's rather inarticulate article about why mac's suck. Mostly in support, but also to teach better spelling/grammar. Here it is, to anybody who cares.

Mac Mail, iPhoto, GarageBand, iChat, Quicktime, and the rest of the bundled Mac software mostly just sucks, or is extremely limited in what it can do. Luckily some programs like VLC and CuteFTP have recently started to offer Mac versions of their software, but good luck trying to find Mac versions of most popular freeware.Estimated Reading Time: 7 mins
Almost every OS X version one upgrades their Mac annually to robs the machine of performance. Many newer Mac's now come with non-upgradable RAM, so the machines performance can't be increased to counter the software bloat. Even the neutral exFAT format Disk …
the reason they "suck" (which for what they are meant to do they most definitely do not) is what you do on them, they really suck for gaming because they were never designed for it, they don't have the software to run it seeing most game companies make games for there operating system, like windows makes xbox games so a lot of xbox games are made for windows, *but not macs*, as far as music, …

Why do we still give these people our money? UPDATE: this article is now the #1 search result on Google and DuckDuckGo for “Apple sucks,” which is why so many people like to complain about Apple below. Clearly, there are more than 18 things about Apple that suck.
Once again. The menu bar on the Mac makes no sense. I did the math for you. Black ops runs at 50fps on full settings on windows on mac partition and 30 on mac. PCs are more for the power user, gamer, and business. Like not having viruses? However, you have to understand that Mac is a tool to serve a purpose, and that purpose is not high-end power-user development or work. Why do we still give these people our money? Just use the computer and had fun what you had. This isn't controversial. No, Mac is not the only answer, but they are fun. Why always start a fight and get personal? With rare exception e. Macs So what do you mean by single purpose? Same deal trying to uninstall something, won't go into it again, literally, exactly the same process. My Macs are stable, the portables have excellent batteries and when traveling I network connections just work without adjustments of network profiles. I could not agree more. Let's assume you can even FIND more than 2 games worth playing on a mac that would need a better graphics card. I love my Mac… The graphics suck Huh? Are you honestly that much of an isheep? You need to use bootcamp and you have to make sure everything you buy is compatible with it. My desktop has all the windows doc stuff. For example, in Icon mode you start Command-clicking a few thumbnails of files to upload. Advertisement is always about making your product look better than the others, and often, make it look better than what it already is. Not that we don't get hints of some of this here on a regular basis — one can still find e. No key combo that will quit any application as Alt-F4 does in Windows. Try again, put the origin folder on the left, the destination folder on the right, highlight, click and drag, release. This is a vague way to end things, but mostly because its the only way to sum up all the things that are wrong with Macs. Not made for mac and ported to PC. Sometimes the manufacturer is just awful, but most of time these are just hard to avoid, and replacement costs are built into the price. You need Windows XP or up. I haven't heard of any, but people mention them all the time. As for no up grading? I built my desktop in high school and have built the software from the ground up, too, running Arch and Gentoo. Now let me enjoy my Mac without shoving your indignant righteousness down my throat. My A Watch has been used twice. Then again, you have failed. The scourge of your existence. Want better graphics capability for gaming? There was skyrim, bf3, mw3, and theres a lot more out there this coming year. Now on to the disclaimer I could continue but this post is ridiculously long as it is. All that changed when Apple decided to rebrand itself. And also, aside from the hardware, the software is just great. PC people and PC wannabes. But don't take my word for it! See above. Cost is not the only reason as to why some folks prefer a PC over a Mac. Absolutely not.
In August my old laptop bit the dust. Everyone was raving about Macs and I saw some good developers using them. This, and the fact I was such an Apple fanboy in my youth , convinced me that it was time for this prodigal Mac son to come home. I bought an almost-new MacBook off Craigslist—which later turned out to be stolen. I was immediately disappointed. At the behest of many, I now present that list. Please note that this list is compiled from moments of extreme frustration over many months. The menu bar on the Mac makes no sense. It is based on technology when only one program ran at a time, so every window on the screen belonged to the same program. For example, I keep Skype and Adium windows open on the far right of my external monitor. To edit a Skype setting, I must navigate to the opposite side of the desktop, across two entire screen widths, just to reach a menu option. A small line of point text explains which appliance is currently being controlled. Ghost programs. Program can be running but with no windows, existing only as menu bar. Furthermore, when no windows for an app are open, you get the nonsense situation where many menu actions E. Confusing situations when menu bar of window-less app is showing over window of other program. The natural instinct is to think that the menu bar relates to the window which is filling the screen, but the interface leads you astray. No copy-n-paste from calculator widget or dictionary, or any widgets. Just today I needed to calculate the number of seconds in 2 years. It was easy to do use the Mac calculator and even get the answer: 63,, But it is impossible to copy that answer into my file. Not only that, but it is also impossible to look at the calculator to transcribe the answer! The only solution is to write the answer down with a pen, or two flip back and forth to insure you remembered it correctly. See here for more info. It is impossible to drag something like a file from Finder to an application which is not currently visible. You must carefully arrange windows ahead of time so that both are visible. In Windows. Furthermore, in Windows when you drag to the task bar, you can even select from multiple windows of the application. Impossible to perform a double-click and drag or triple-click and drag from the touchpad without using the button. No Home or End Keys on Keyboard. Now before you start screaming about using Command-left and Command-right, simmer down and listen for second. It is up to every program to decide if they will offer this super-duper feature, and to decide what key combination to assign. Lack of error reporting overall. No way to know when you have mis-configured exchange in address book and iSync. If you do enter password or any setting wrong, it just does nothing. Multiple confusing ways of installing applications. All I know is that I always end up with disk images left over all over the place. Sometime try explaining this technique to your parents or a non-technical peer sometime. Learn how here. Ridiculously slow way of navigating complex dialog boxes that you must use often. In contrast, Windows dialogs may be quickly navigated by pressing Alt in combination of the underlined letter of the field. Many most? Again you are forced to use the damn mouse for a task where keys are much better. The frustrating thing here is that works in some applications. Want to go through a list of fonts? No auto-resize of columns. In Mac you have to drag the column manually, which sometime means also having to re-size the window first. It should also remember the size when you change it.
Please explain to me why I would ever spend over a thousand dollars more and get less? Look, these are common customer service issues. No your thing is just.. Not gonna happen. Macs are aimed at the high-end of the tech market. For serious gamers, the cost is not the only reason why they prefer a PC over Mac. Computers I bought for my employees are worthless hunks of crud that I spent good money on to replace PCs. See here for more info 6. Adobe got help from Apple a year or so back to get better performance, specifically for internet video. Ok, that sucks, but I know where it all is now, so no big whoop. Why else would women spend thousands of dollars on jewelry that provide no functional benefit? Woa, look at the size of those thumbnails!! And in any case, merely clicking the close button just feels wrong, and trains people the wrong way. PC is definitely a more affordable choice and it performs very well for gaming. Same with cmd-tab; cmd-shift-tab goes backwards. It's a difference without a distinction. You need Windows XP or up. So let's say you don't encounter ANY more problems with this process and I've seen a "tech support then repair" loop with no joke, 8 or so rotations of; call in, diagnose problem, pay to fix problem, repeat. Funny how PC people do their research and apple people have no idea what they are talking about. At one point it got so bad that I had to bring it to the principles attention. I was also sick of the lack of compatibility for certain freeware programs and the fact that my basic, cheap work PC laptop would get better wireless connections in most places than my Macs. But don't take my word for it! VLC and FileZilla are fantastic. The Intel cpu? Oh also, this stuff was copy pasted from a post written in right? They are a company that sells mediocre products to an adoring public who are only really interested in impressing their peers with a flashy new toy. Are you kidding me?! A debate that ends up pissing off either windows or mac fanboys. I did not expect to pay such money for a junk. Windows 7 is very intuitive and slick. Better Results for less money. I'm curious how far the moderator who locks this reads. Rawr: Yep I understand. What terrible genius dwells in Redmond that gives Windows XP such truly awesome and fearful powers?! And who needs a delete button, when you already have your backspace, or just use your secondary click to select the delete function ;. Anyone who builds there own knows it. In Mac you have to drag the column manually, which sometime means also having to re-size the window first. The battle of the battle pc vs Mac use what you prefer thats confortable to you remember is just a computer and holy Fck is this like world war 3 or something? Software: Most of the software I have had on my PC has been in my opinion inferior to Mac software, I prefer quality over quantity. Of course not, you spend five seconds on Google and get a better program. As for hard drives, you have to make sure its hardware compatible with any computer. Aspyr that only port games from PC to mac because mac sucks so much. Apple really can't claim to have re-invented the wheel on this issue, because it's about four years too late. The Art of Fantasio. Sounds sexy. Yes, being environmental friendly IS pricy nowadays, much more than you think.
I don't care that nobody will probably read this. I don't care that most who do will be either crapple supporters or PC supporters, and you will either agree or flame denial at me. All I want, is the opportunity for someone to read my eloquent as fark summary on some reasons why a PC will always kick the ass out of a mac. I won't be replying to comments made. I wrote this to post as a response to someone else's rather inarticulate article about why mac's suck. Here it is, to anybody who cares. It's not high end any more, but I did this at least a year ago. It's still good. Specs are as follows - core i8 2. It's not perfect, sometimes may need to bump antialiasing or anisotropy down from 24xeq down to 16x and 8x to 4x respectively. But hey no biggie there, barely notice the difference. That's a win. Not a small one either. Next, let's tackle the "virus issue" a. Now, I'm a higher end user than most, so I'm not going to say anyone who doesn't know as much about running windows cleanly as me is dumb. It's rarely more than that. So their system is locked up or all messed up and basically not functioning. Are you willing to drive 4 hours to your closest mac store? They call us back and the problem apparently was so serious they need to keep the damn thing and mail it back - half the time they're back on to tech support within a week with a similar issue, ie; not fixed, not really. OR They need to mail it in, because they can't get to, or are unwilling to travel to, the closest mac store. That's a pain, right? Often, in between the finding and getting your system TO a mac store, your apple care has lapsed. It's ok though, you can extend your apple care, so long as it hasn't been lapsed for longer than a few weeks. It's only another hundred bucks though, right? Except that the fault the "geniuses" found, was user caused. Ever kept your iPhone in your handbag? Ever been outside while it's raining? More cash for apple. So let's say you don't encounter ANY more problems with this process and I've seen a "tech support then repair" loop with no joke, 8 or so rotations of; call in, diagnose problem, pay to fix problem, repeat. You're still out at least 3 days with no computer because of your tiny little issue, you've paid out nearly dollars, and likely, when you get your piece of crapple see what I did there? My pc? For some reason, it's fine if it's a mac though. PC win. On my windows machine, I open a window, I browse my files. Stuff is easy as hell to find. The file tree and the way it's laid out, just makes sense. Can't find it? Bingo, there it is. My mother wanted to find where she'd saved a something or other on her mac, so I ask her, where do your documents save by default. She said "I think, it's here" and took 5 minutes in finder the worst thing I've ever seen EVER to navigate to her typical documents folder, the windows equivalent of, clicking "My Documents" on the start menu. I'm sure there is an easier way but she's a typical aged mac fanatic, can't learn new stuff so good but refuses to use a windows machine, even though the learning is easier by far. But it wasn't there. So now, I have to go through finder and try to navigate the file tree. Now, it's not that much different REALLY in the way it's structured, but you tell me why it took me damn near all day to find my way to wherever the hell it ended up saving, because the search turned up either a: nothing or b: practically everything. We decided at that point, to just move all the offending documents scattered across the four winds to her typical "Documents" style folder. Attempted what I thought would be a cut and paste.
